This is the Guangxu Yuanbao silver coin made in Jiangxi Province.
Guangxu Yuanbao is the first machine-made coin in China. It was first cast by Zhang Zhidong, the governor of Hubei and Guangdong, and then became popular in 19 provinces across the country. The inner ring on the front of this coin is cast with "Guangxu Yuanbao", and the outer ring has the words "Jiangxi Province" and "Kuping seven coins and two cents".
It has a high collection value: in terms of history, as the mainstream currency during the Guangxu period, it is the first currency made by machines in my country, which has important research significance; in terms of craftsmanship, it is made by British machines, and compared with traditional currencies, the style is exquisite, the text on the front is regular, and the details of the Tenglong pattern on the back, such as dragon whiskers and dragon scales, are finely carved; in terms of art, the Tenglong pattern on the back is difficult to carve, the texture is exquisite, and the relief method is used, which is lifelike
